Villarreal have beaten Celta Vigo 2-2 in their latest La Liga match, thanks to goals from both teams. The match was played at the Estadio de la Alcorcón on Saturday evening.
The first half saw both teams create chances but neither could find the back of the net. However, the second half saw things start to open up for Villarreal as they took control of the game.
In the 65th minute, Chukwueze scored his second goal of the season, putting Villarreal ahead with a well-taken penalty kick. Celta Vigo were not to be outdone, however, as they equalized just three minutes later through a header from Iago Aspas.
Villarreal then doubled their lead in the 79th minute, with Raul Garcia scoring after being set up by Chukwueze. Celta Vigo fought hard to get back into the game, but it proved to be too little, too late as Villarreal held on for a hard-fought victory.
Both Villarreal and Celta Vigo will now look to continue their strong performances in the coming matches. Villarreal, who are currently sitting top of the league table, will be hoping to keep their momentum going as they face off against Getafe next week. Meanwhile, Celta Vigo will be looking to bounce back from their recent defeat and try to secure a win in their upcoming fixture against Real Sociedad.
